Okotoks, AB – The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are proud to announce that 1999 born forward Marc Pasemko (Edmonton, Alberta) has committed to the Colorado College Tigers for the 2020-21 Season.

Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Tigers play in the NCAA’s National Collegiate Hockey Conference under six year Head Coach Mike Haviland. The Tigers have won a Conference Championship, participated in 20 NCAA Tournaments, along with 10 trips to the Frozen Four and two National Titles (1950 & 1957).

Pasemko, 20, in his third and final season in the AJHL with the Oilers, has 69 points (24 goals, 45 assists) in 50 games played.

Marc has played every minute of his Junior ’A’ career with the green and gold, accumulating 151 points (47 goals, 104 assists) in 165 games played. During his time in the post season, he has helped the Oilers reach the South Division and AJHL Final, in that time scoring 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists) in 26 Inter Pipeline Cup playoff games.

Oilers Head Coach / General Manager / Director of Hockey Development Tyler Deis says Pasemko’s development from his first game as an affiliate to now as a strong offensive leader in the AJHL and community ambassador off the ice, shows the character and will to win that the Tigers have recruited.

“Marc has all the tools and determination to be a winner on and off the ice,” Deis says. “In three seasons with our organization, he has grown immensely and has learned to adjust his game in many different areas and that has come full circle this season. We couldn’t be more excited to see Marc continue his hockey career with Colorado College and pursue his academic goals as well.”

Pasemko is the fifth Okotoks Oilers in franchise history to commit to the Tigers joining David Civitarese (2008), Tanner Ockey (2015), Ben Sanderson (2018) and Coltan Wilkie (2020).

As his final season of junior is slowly coming to an end, Pasemko says he’s excited for the chance to play for the Tigers, but knows there’s still plenty of hard work to go before heading to Colorado College this fall.

“It’s a great feeling since it has been one of my dreams to play Division I hockey,” he says.  “Colorado College is giving me the opportunity to not only continue playing hockey but also to have the chance to get a great education, which is just as important to me. As soon as I met with the coaching staff, saw the facilities and the city, I knew it was the right place for me.”

Marc adds that his time with the Oilers organization and progressing through the hockey program helped lead him to where he is now.

“I want to thank my family, friends, all my teammates from the past three years and my aunt and uncle who have billeted me during my time as an Oiler.  I especially want to thank Coach Deis and the rest of the Oilers staff and organization for supporting me through my hockey journey. I look forward to being able to compete against some of my old teammates and friends that are all in the NCHC.”

The Oilers would like to congratulate Marc and his family on his achievement and them for their dedication to our program and the Foothills community both on and off the ice.

Since the puck dropped on the 2019-20 Season, the Oilers have eight (8) players committed to NCAA Division I Schools.  Marc is the eleventh Oiler on the 2019-20 roster committed to an NCAA Division I Institution along with:
